Karin Kato 加藤花鈴
コンテンポラリーダンサー。カナダで生まれ、横浜で育つ。
5歳よりクラッシックバレエを始め、日本音楽高校 音楽科 バレエコース卒業。その後カナダ留学生オーディションに通過し、2009年にトロントに短期留学した後にコンテンポラリーダンスに出会う。
2010年～2012年カナダ バンクーバーのコンテンポラリーダンスプログラム Modus Operandiのメンバーとなり、ディレクター Tiffany Tregarthen, David Raymondの元コンテンポラリーダンスを本格的に学ぶ。
ProArteDanza summer program, Springboard Danse Montrealを始め、
カナダ、アメリカにて様々なワークショップに参加する機会を得る。
留学中よりHenry Danielがディレクターを務めるProject Barcaとダンサー契約。その後2013年夏帰国。
帰国後より日本の伝統文化をモチーフとしたパフォーマンス集団KIRIEにダンサーとして加わり、国内外の公演活動に出演。その他国内外の振付家のプロジェクトに参加している。
ジュエリーブランドVan Cleef & Arpelsの日本40周年記念パーティ出演。
2015年韓国人振付家、Lee Kwangseokの作品を踊る。韓国公演、日本公演出演。
香港振付家とのコラボレーション作品「Voice Mail」出演。振り付け Yuri Ng、作曲 Ng Cheuk-Yin
帝国ホテルにて映像とダンスのコラボレーション、人間国宝 能楽師 大倉正之助、バイオリニスト川井郁子と共演する機会を得る。
2017年 ソロ作品 「吐露」発表。
キャンドルアーティスト、縄師、霧絵師とのコラボレーション作品「白日夢」発表。
ハラサオリ作品「DA DAD DADA」日本公演出演。
ナチュラルダンステアトル 文化庁巡業公演 「さーかす」準主役として出演。
オスカーピーターソンシアターにてトロントのダンスカンパニーKaeja d’Dance と共演。
2019年 上野の森美術館にてKIRIE プロデュース立体浮世絵展 写真作品モデル、和紙作品インスタレーション演出・振付を手がける。
同年ソロ作品2作目とする「白日夢」がContemporary Ballet of Asiaに招呼され、韓国にて発表。
2020年ハンガリー大使館主催記者会見にて高円宮妃久子殿下の御前にてパフォーマンス。
同年舞台The Life of HOKUSAI娘役に抜擢。
さまざまなアーティストや音楽家とのコラボレーションを意欲的に行い、ダンサーとしての活動の傍ら、演出・振付も手がける。
企業パーティ出演や子供向けワークショップを行うなど、活動は幅広い。
Karin is a contemporary dancer who was born in Canada and grew up in Yokohama in Japan.
She started her classical training when she was 5 years old, and graduated from a ballet course of music department at Japan music high school.
After high school, she received a scholarship for short period of study abroad to Toronto in Canada and it was how she met to contemporary dance.
Since 2010-2012, she participated in Modus Operandi contemporary dance program in Vancouver as a member and she studied more under the artistic director Tiffany Tregarthen and David Raymond. She joined researchingproject Barca ( Artistic director : Henry Daniel ).
After Karin came back to Japan in summer 2013, she became a member at project KIRIE which is Japanese traditional contemporary art company.
Beside of member at KIRIE, Karin joined some projects by Kaeja Dance (Toronto),Kwangseok Lee (Korea), Yuri Ng (Hong Kong), Saori Hara, Ryu Suzuki, Kaori Kagaya and Kimiho Halbert (Japan).
She also had an opportunity to perform with Violinist Ikuko Kawai and Masanosuke Okura who is living national treasure of Japan as No-gaku player.
Karin had a contract with Natural Dance Theatre as a guest dancer for the tour since 2017 to 2019.
Since 2016 she has been teaching and also creating pieces as a choreographer.
Her Solo piece “Day Dream” created from collaboration with candle artist and air brush artist that performed at the convention centre in Switzerland 2018. This solo invited to Contemporary Ballet Of Asia in Korea 2019.
In 2019 she choreographed installation piece Flower cage of Ukiyo for Three Dimensional Ukiyoe Exhibition at Ueno Royal Museum.
She chose to act as a daughter of Hokusai for stage The Life Of HOKUSAI.
Karin invited to perform at press conference of Rubik’s cube 40th celebration party in front of princess Takamado by Hungarian embassy Nov 2020.
